It is your personal time, especially people coming with family. When you are in camp with your family, you want to feel assured that the people that’s going to be around you is going to behave. There’s not going to be foul language around your children or anything like that. It’s your camp, it’s your house for the 10 days that you are in Africa, or the 14 days or whatever.
And you have to know that in that first two days, there’s a good chance that you’re going to have some jet lag, you’re going to be a little bit tired. So if your trip is too short, by the time you really get to enjoy it, the trip’s almost over or halfway into the trip and you just feel like you miss out an opportunity.
And then on the trophy side of things, if you want really good quality trophies, which is all that we do, we don’t shoot something if it’s not a really good trophy and a good represent of the species. Uh, to be able to do that, you need enough time that you can pass up on some of the opportunities.
If you are pressured for time and your time is too short, you’re going to have pressure on you that you might want to shoot something that you didn’t really want much. Rather have enough time that you can relax and really enjoy what you do, not feel rushed for anything, and feel like you can actually let that one go. There’s going to be a better one along the line instead of being pressured.
